MooreU

Since 2006, Moore & Moore Solutions has served the industrial battery industry, selling, installing and recycling the batteries that keep data centers, telecom networks and utilities running. Founder Mike Moore spent years developing his own battery sizing, cabling and recycling calculations, and he asked Montana Banana to turn mooreu.com into the place where his customers could use them.

The Challenge

MooreU was running an older PHP site with its engineering tools bolted on. Mike wanted a site that reflected what MooreU actually does (engineer, furnish, install) and could carry a catalog of more than 10,000 battery products alongside the tools. Customers needed to get from “what battery do I need?” to a quote or an order in one place, and the recycling side needed a way to price pickups and track every load through to proper disposal.

Engineering tools, built in

We designed a new logo, style guide and site, rebuilt it on October CMS, and brought Mike’s tools in as part of the site rather than as separate apps. The Battery Energy Storage System Builder sizes a project to IEEE standards and recommends batteries from the catalog, the Primary Cable Sizing App handles the cabling, and the battery rack housing tool matches racks and cabinets to the batteries a customer picked. Find My Battery searches the full catalog by product name or part number, and everything lands in one shared cart.

Recycling, start to finish

Battery Recycling Quote gives customers a fast budgetary estimate or a formal quote, with freight figured in. Behind the scenes, a recycling admin lets MooreU’s team manage each request, assign installers, upload EPA disposal certificates and bills of lading, and compare budgeted freight and material values against actuals. Customers can pull their certificates from their account any time. Montana Banana meets with MooreU weekly and continues to add new tools as they move from Mike’s notes onto the site.
