Oakley SI Direct
Oakley Standard Issue equips the military, law enforcement, fire and public service agencies with ballistic eyewear, sunglasses, apparel and footwear. After building the Oakley SI Stories blog, Montana Banana was asked to take on something bigger: a business-to-agency platform where qualified agencies can order directly from Oakley SI.
The Challenge
Oakley SI and its sister brand ESS both needed direct agency ordering, and running two separate platforms would have doubled the cost to build, host and maintain. The answer had to be a single system that could run two fully branded storefronts, keep each brand’s customers, catalog, pricing and payments separate, and give one operations team a single admin for both. Because the buyers are government agencies, it also had to meet a high security bar from day one.

Two brands, one platform
We built Oakley SI Direct and ESS Direct on one October CMS and Laravel backend, with a separate theme and domain for each brand. Each customer account is tied to its brand, each brand has its own CyberSource payment gateway and transactional email, and the admin is color-coded so staff always know which store they are working in. New features ship to both storefronts at once, which keeps ongoing costs down for both brands.
Built for security
The platform runs behind an enterprise web application firewall. It has been through third-party penetration testing and vulnerability scanning, with findings fixed and verified. When fake account sign-ups appeared, we added layered bot protection to the sign-up and password reset forms without adding friction for real buyers. Montana Banana continues to support the platform, with regular security patching, tested backup restores and a staging environment where every release is QA’d before it goes live.
